Is Lehigh Valley Academy a public school?
Yes, Lehigh Valley Academy is a public school. Lehigh Valley Academy is also a non‐profit organization and does not charge tuition.

Lehigh Valley Academy received authorization for all three International Baccalaureate Programmes (IBO) ‐ the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Diploma Programme (DP) and the Middle Years Programme (MYP). Where does Lehigh Valley Academy get its funding?
Lehigh Valley Academy is funded by tax dollars and state initiatives just like other public schools. Lehigh Valley Academy receives 80% of the funds designated for a child’s education as determined by the child’s school district of residence. The district of residence keeps 20% to cover transportation and administrative costs.
How many students are in a class?
There are no more than 25 students in each class.
How long is the school year/day?
Lehigh Valley Academy is in session 192 days a year. Our day begins at 8:00am and classes are dismissed at 3:30pm. This schedule is standard for all grades, K‐12.
How do I enroll my child?
Our enrollment process starts with a new enrollment session. You mail your “Student Preenrollment” form to our accountants in order for your child to be part of the enrollment lottery. If there is an opening, your child will be placed at the appropriate grade level. Otherwise he/she will be added to the waiting list. You may add your child to our waiting list at any time before December 31 of an academic year. The enrollment waiting list is renewed each year. It does not carry over to the next year and you must pre‐register your child each year. Please see our Admissions Process web page for more information.
Why does Lehigh Valley Academy have a waiting list?
Lehigh Valley Academy’s waiting list is organized by grade level and generated by the enrollment lottery. The waiting list exists because there are more families who would like their children to attend Lehigh Valley Academy than there are available openings.
Does Lehigh Valley Academy offer sports programs?
Lehigh Valley Academy has club sports and many extra‐curricular activities. Students may participate in sports programs offered in their district of residence by completing an Athletics Confirmation Sheet, available on our Forms Library page.
